Chapter 12 - A New Recipe

As the summer rolled in, Sarah’s confidence continued to bloom. The baking she had returned to as a comfort mechanism had slowly evolved into a passionate pursuit.

It was a fitting name. She was flourishing. Taking control of her own business gave her a renewed sense of purpose and independence. She spent her mornings experimenting with recipes, the kitchen smelling of vanilla and browned butter.

Ryan loved coming home from work to find the counters dusted with flour and Sarah humming to the radio. The kitchen island, once the site of their most terrifying family crisis, had been entirely reclaimed. It was now a place of creation, warmth, and sweet beginnings. Sarah had overwritten a dark memory with a thousand beautiful ones.
