Chapter 1: The Waitress Who Called the Billionaire Heiress “Sister”

Chapter 1: The Waitress Who Called the Billionaire Heiress “Sister”

The ballroom fell into a deathly silence.

Scarlett nearly choked as she stared at the young waitress standing before her.

"Evelyn?" she whispered again.

The waitress nodded slowly, tears streaming down her face.

"I never forgot you, Scarlett."

A collective gasp escaped the guests.

For ten years, the Vance family had publicly mourned the loss of their youngest sister. Newspapers had reported the tragedy. Search teams had scoured the forests and rivers. Finally, everyone accepted that Evelyn Vance was gone forever.

Everyone, except Evelyn herself.

Scarlett stepped forward, her hands trembling.

"No... this can't be true."

Evelyn gently rolled up her sleeve, revealing the silver bracelet.

"I gave it to you before the camping trip."

Scarlett immediately recognized the small scratch she had accidentally made while helping her sister put it on years ago.

It was true.

Her sister was still alive.

From across the room, Eleanor suddenly turned and lunged towards the door.

"Stop her!" Evelyn yelled.

The panic in her voice made everyone turn around.

Two hotel security guards instinctively blocked Eleanor's path.

The refined woman, who had spent years portraying herself as the perfect wife, now looked terrified.

"Let me go!" Eleanor screamed.

Scarlett stared at her.

"Why are you running?"

Eleanor couldn't answer.

Because she knew what Evelyn was about to reveal.

Ten years ago, during a family camping trip, eight-year-old Evelyn overheard a conversation she was never supposed to hear.

She heard Eleanor arguing with a man about money.

About inheritance.

About ensuring Scarlett would be the sole heir to the Vance estate.

When Eleanor realized Evelyn was eavesdropping, everything changed.

Evelyn remembers being lured away from the campsite with promises of candy.

She remembers a dark-colored car.

She remembers being abandoned hundreds of miles away.

A truck driver eventually found her wandering alone near the highway.

Too young to remember an address or phone number, she was placed in foster care under a different name.

And while she struggled to survive, Eleanor returned home and said Evelyn had disappeared on the trip.

For ten years, no one doubted the story.

Until now.

Scarlett's face turned pale as she looked at the woman she had trusted for most of her life.

May you like

"You did this?" she whispered.

Eleanor's silence was the answer.
