Comer Says Clintons Face Contempt Charges In Epstein Probe

WASHINGTON, D.C. — The House Oversight Committee is moving toward a historic legal confrontation with the Clinton family. Chairman James Comer announced that after four months of "delay and obstruction," the committee is prepared to hold the former First Couple in contempt of Congress. The subpoenas, first issued in August, seek to clarify the extent of the Clintons' associations with Jeffrey Epstein and Ghislaine Maxwell.

The Deposition Deadlines

The Clintons were originally scheduled for testimony in October, but after negotiations with their attorney, David Kendall, the dates were moved to:

  • Bill Clinton: December 17, 2025 (Rescheduled/Pending)

"The Oversight Committee will begin contempt of Congress proceedings to hold them accountable if they fail to appear," Comer stated, noting that the committee is investigating "horrific crimes" that require sworn testimony from those within Epstein's social circle.

The "Photo War"

The warning from Comer followed a strategic counter-move by Democrats on the committee, who released 19 photographs seized from Epstein’s estate.

  • The Images: The photos feature prominent figures including President Donald Trump, Bill Clinton, and Prince Andrew.

  • The Archive: Oversight members confirmed these are a "small fraction" of over 95,000 images currently being processed by the committee.

Internal Friction: The Dan Bongino Conflict

While the Clintons face external pressure, the FBI is dealing with internal turmoil. Reports from journalist Rachel Bade suggest that Assistant Director Dan Bongino is on the verge of leaving the bureau following a "fiery confrontation" with Attorney General Pam Bondi.

  • The Dispute: Bongino allegedly clashed with Bondi over a DOJ/FBI memo asserting that no "client list" exists and that there is no evidence Epstein was used to blackmail prominent individuals.

  • The Fallout: Critics within the administration claim Bongino prioritized his "personal reputation with MAGA World" over the official DOJ stance, leading to a period where he reportedly failed to report to work in protest.
