Clintons agree to testify after House threatens contempt in Jeffrey Epstein probe

WASHINGTON D.C.
— In a dramatic reversal that has electrified Capitol Hill, former PresidentBill Clintonand former Secretary of StateHillary Clintonhave agreed to testify before the House Oversight Committee regarding the Jeffrey Epstein investigation.

The decision comes on the heels of an aggressive move by lawmakers to hold the political power couple incriminal contempt of Congress.

"The Clintons Are Not Above the Law"

The standoff reached a breaking point this week when the Committee, led by Chairman James Comer, signaled it was ready to enforce subpoenas issued months ago. In a blistering statement posted to X (formerly Twitter), the Committee accused the Clintons of stalling tactics.

"The Clintons were trying to dodge contempt by requesting special treatment," the Committee stated. "The Clintons are not above the law."

Faced with the prospect of a criminal referral—which carries the threat of fines and potential incarceration—the Clintons blinked.

"They Will Be There"
